My name is Sam Griffiths, I am a London based guitarist, composer & educator.

Sam was born in Cornwall, UK but now resides in London. From an early age Sam had a love of music and would often be found scrawling through his parents’ record collection listening to everything and anything he could get his hands on. This love of listening would soon develop into a compulsion to create and soon Sam would enthusiastically try his hand at a few instruments. However, it was not until he heard the opening wails of ‘Voodoo Child’ by one Jimi Hendrix that he knew which instrument was the one for him, the guitar. Sam would follow his love of the guitar throughout his teenage years, finally culminating in a move to London in 2008 to start his career as a musician.

Sam studied at the prestigious Tech Music School and London College of Music, firstly completing their Diploma scheme and then gaining a BMus in Popular Music Performance. While a student Sam was lucky enough to study with some of the UK’s best musicians and musical educators, gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience whilst in this most positive of musical environments.

As a musician Sam has performed with a host of different artists across a varied range of genres, performing in some of the UK’s most established venues, including Shoreditch House, The IndigO2, Jazz Café and Shepherds Bush Empire. Some of the artists Sam has worked with include Gabriella Ellis, Sunday Waits, Luke Girvan, Hepz Tagoe as well as playing at a number of corporate events for the likes of Channel 5, London Fashion Week and the Rays Of Sunshine Charity. In 2011 Sam formed and fronted his own jazz-fusion quartet which he will continue to develop through 2012 with a recording release and number of tour dates across the UK, featuring some of the UK’s best young musicians.
